As I've said before the most important thing in an essay is to come up with a clear line of argument and it's important to tell the reader about that right at the beginning. So set out your plan for the essay at the outset and then use the rest of the essay to actually build up your argument. The Ultimate Guide To Essay Writing
The Ultimate Guide To Essay Writing But remember to avoid all forms of plagiarism as well as paying agents to write on your behalf. An essay is an opportunity to present a dynamic interchange of ideas. It can be one youâve already written, one that responds to a different prompt, or one of your own design. the question is how effectively and clearly you are able to present and defend your arguments, backing them up with solid evidence. It is more like a debate where you examine the strengths and weaknesses of your argument and then the viewpoints of the opposing side before making a persuasive presentation. Your proofreading needs to be conducted in the context of the original objective of the project. Another helpful strategy is to brainstorm with others, especially those you are acquainted with. If you are able to communicate your argument and receive feedback, it will be easier and more effective for you to present it on paper. Jot down the summary of your conclusion first because this will give you a target to aim at and you will be clear on where you are heading before you begin your journey. It will prevent you from being scattered or wavering in your work and will keep you consistent and relevant to the theme. The goal of this essay is to deepen the reader's understanding concerning the subject. Your responsibility is to analyze the subject at hand systematically and then explain it by providing examples of the main points and giving proper analogies. You need to allow as much time as possible for proofreading. Be as meticulous as possible, but don't overdo it. You may find parts of your essay need to be deleted altogether and other parts require additional research. This type of essay is used to cover the perspectives of others concerning a subject or provide a description of an occurrence or event. The exposition should bring to light interpretations through writing. Exposition is a process that begins by identifying the foundational ideas and facts and then analyzing the relevant research material. Your points must be backed up by what you have gathered through thorough research. This is the type of essay that covers a subject or theme, more intensively. The objective of the descriptive essay is to illustrate a subject so clearly, that the reader is able to vividly picture it in their mind's eye. The essay begins with a general idea, which is then further developed in the subsequent paragraphs. However, you need to do this in such a way that the reader is able to understand that the point of view presented is actually correct. A certain level of competence is therefore required on your part as a writer, in order to complete a proper evaluation. in a critical essay, Simply stating the facts is not enough to bring about a convincing presentation. Employ the use of the senses to enliven your writing. Bring out descriptions that demonstrate how the subject matter felt, tasted, smelt or sounded like. This will slip the reader into your shoes, making them feel like they are going through the experience with you. And don't forget to ensure that your essay arouses curiosity. This will also help you reach the end of the essay in a shorter time and thereby free up more time for editing and proofreading. Another point you need to bear in mind is to avoid writing as though you are doing this for your professor or your boss. You are really addressing a much wider audience! So study other writings by experts on the same theme in order to gain insight and draw inspiration. There may be sections that need to be rewritten. Your essay may have passed through the first four stages well, but it is this final stage of proofreading that ultimately determines its viability. This is the final step, but contrary to what a lot of people believe, the most important part of essay-writing. Proofreading involves a lot more than spell-checking. Introduce the issues that stand against the theme of the essay. This will help the reader understand the topic more clearly because the opposite side of the matter will have been presented before the rest of the content. In a persuasive essay, you focus on your side of the argument. In this way, this essay is not one where you explain concerning your personal opinion , or where you simply present the pros and cons of something.

Money and Morality in Mansfield Park - Literature Essay Samples
A characterââ¬â¢s views on morality and material gain seem to form the distinction between being a ââ¬Å"goodâ⬠or ââ¬Å"badâ⬠character in Austenââ¬â¢s novel Mansfield Park. By conducting a character analysis of Lady Bertram, Mary Crawford, and Sir Thomas, one can glean the true, didactic purpose of Mansfield Park, especially when the values of these characters are contrasted with the pristine morality of Fanny Price. Sir Thomas, for instance (despite his already morally questionable slave plantations in Antigua), magnanimously offers releasing Maria Bertram, his daughter, from her engagement to the dull yet wealthy Rushworth. However, once Maria opts to remain in her engagement, the insincerity of Sir Thomasââ¬â¢ offer becomes apparent, since he feels ââ¬Å"happy to escape the embarrassing evils of such a rupture, the wonder, the reflections, the reproach that must attend it, happy to secure a marriage which would bring him such an addition of respectability a nd influenceâ⬠(Mansfield Park, Ch. 21). Not only is he relieved to avoid the embarrassment breaking off an engagement would bring, he is also relieved that the wedding will continue because it will bring him influence, power, and money. Thus, Sir Thomas prioritizes material gain over the happiness of his daughter. This mentality strikes again when he tries to force the marriage of Fanny and Henry Crawford. When Fanny says that she could not make Henry happy and that she would be miserable for the rest of her life, Sir Thomas replies: ââ¬Å" I had thought you peculiarly free from wilfulness of temper, self-conceitThe advantage or disadvantage of your familynever seems to have had a momentââ¬â¢s share in your thoughts on th is occasion. How they might be benefited throwing away from you such an opportunity of being settled in lifeFanny, that you may [never be] addressed by a man of half Mr. Crawfordââ¬â¢s estate, or a tenth part of his meritsâ⬠(Mansfield Park, Ch. 32). Sir Thomas cannot fathom why Fanny would put principles/happiness over material gain, and interprets her refusal as, at best, a bout of ungratefulness and, at worst, a temporary fit of hysteria. When viewed with a contemporary eye, this situation can only be seen in Fannyââ¬â¢s favor. However, one can only wonder whether Fanny putting affection over avarice would indeed be seen as a selfish act during the Victorian era. Sir Thomasââ¬â¢ wife, Lady Bertram, puts this belief much more plainly than her husband does. Lady Bertram, in speaking with Fanny, says ââ¬Å"if you were married to a man of such good estate as Mr. Crawfordyou must be aware, Fanny, that it is every young womanââ¬â¢s duty to accept such a very unexceptionable o ffer as thisâ⬠(Mansfield Park, Ch. 33). Even these two opinions could be dismissed as the outdated beliefs of the older generation, but in analyzing the mindset of Mary Crawford, we start to wonder if Fanny might be the only one in the wrong, or the only one in the right. I would argue that Mary Crawford is the main foil character used to highlight Fannyââ¬â¢s pure morality. Mary Crawford, though clearly intellectually superior to Sir Thomas and Lady Bertram, is a staunch believer in marrying for money; she is of the opinion that ââ¬Å"everybody [should] marry if they can do it properly: I do not like to have people throw themselves away; but everybody should marry as soon as they can d o it to advantageâ⬠(Mansfield Park, Ch. 4). Mary Crawford seems to be of the opinion that, if marriage does not serve the purpose of material gain, then it has not been done ââ¬Å"properlyâ⬠. Fanny, however, is unlike all of the Bertrams and Crawfords. After her uncleââ¬â¢s scolding on the matter of marriage to Henry Crawford, her principles are not shaken. In fact, she ââ¬Å"trusted, in the first place, that she had done right: that her judgment had not misled her. For the purity of her intentions she could answer; and she was willing to hope, secondly, that her uncleââ¬â¢s displeasurewould abate farther as hefelt, as a good man must feel, how wretched and how wicked it was to m arry without affectionâ⬠(Mansfield Park, Ch. 32). She wholeheartedly believes in the direction of her moral compass. Though superior in morality, Fannyââ¬â¢s principles make her dull company: she looks down on her cousins for engaging in theater/entertainment. However, since Fanny ends up in mutual love with Edmund while Mary ends up cast out of Mansfield Park and the Bertrams socially disgraced, perhaps Fannyââ¬â¢s iron-clad morality was the only true path. By giving Fanny her happy ending and the rest of the characters misfortune, Austen seems to support the idea that putting material gain before morality can only end in disaster.

Fast Food Nation by Eric Schlosser Essay - 1205 Words
The All-American meal takes more out of Americans to make then at first glance. Eric Schlosserââ¬â¢s book Fast Food Nation delves deep into the intricate workings of the fast food industry to expose mistreatment and cruelty towards workers in the business, just as Upton Sinclair had done in the early 1900ââ¬â¢s regarding the meat packing industry. Schlosser is able to bring light to the darkness behind the All-American meal through extensive research and personal confrontations of which he has high regards for. Fast Food Nation is a good literary nonfiction book as a result of Schlosser using relevant anecdotes that allow the reader to connect with the working conditions associated with fast food, and by providing a new perspective on the topicâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦A quality literary nonfiction book should have relevant anecdotes that allow the reader to connect with the experience stated. For example, an anecdote should have emotion tied into it that sets up the reade r for the next idea, but if the anecdote is about one thing and nowhere in the book does the author go back to the anecdote, then it is irrelevant and becomes an obstacle for the mind and its understanding of the argument that has been discussed. Schlosser was able to partially satisfy the criteria that a nonfiction book should include relevant anecdotes that help the reader connect to the fast food industry that causes health risks for its workers. He started the book off with chapter one solely on the relationship of Ray Croc, the owner of McDonalds, and Walt Disney. However, he was unable to incorporate the importance of the relationship into his overall claim regarding the disregard of workers and consumers health by the fast food companies. After he finished with the overly drawn out anecdote, he began to provide relevant anecdotes from actual workers in different jobs associated with the business. First he started with Elisa, a sixteen year old McDonaldââ¬â¢s employee that wakes up at 5:15 every morning and spends seven hours behind the counter on her feet, and when she gets home her feet hurt. Human Capital Is An Important Resource For Organizations...
The importance of workers ability to adapt to novel situations in the workplace and perform at an elevated level may currently be more crucial than ever. It has become increasingly accepted that human capital is an important resource for organizations (Wright McMahan, 2011). According to Siegel (2005) sleep is a recurring period in human activity that is defined as a state of immobility with greatly reduced responsiveness, which can be distinguished from coma or anesthesia by its rapid reversibility (Barnes, Jiang Lepak, 2016). Borbely and Achermann (1999) noted that a major process that underlies sleep regulation is the circadian process, a clocklike mechanism that is basically independent of prior sleep and waking and determines the alternation of periods with high and low sleep propensity. It is undisputed that sleep fulfills important functions, such as allowing physical repair processes or facilitating memory processes (Barnes, Jiang Lepak, 2016). As noted by Sonnetag Mojza (2008), sleep quantity entails the amount of time an individual spends in a sleeping state, and sleep quality refers to difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep, and the number of awakenings experienced throughout the night. Sleep is proposed to be an important part of the re covery process that restores energy levels needed for engagement at work (Ebert, Thiart,Berking, 2015). According to Luckhaupt, Tak and Calvert (2010), many employees sleep six or fewer hours daily and are less alert,Show MoreRelatedPestle Impact on Human Resource1293 Words à |à 6 Pages JULYââ¬â¢12 London School Of Commerce MANAGING HUMAN CAPITAL TASMINA ZAMAN Submitted in partial fulfillment of requirement for the Degree of MBA List of Figures Critically evaluate the issues Human Resources Managers need to take into consideration when there are changes in external environmental factors . Frees on Kafkas Metamorphosis True Essence Essay Example For Students
Frees on Kafkas Metamorphosis: True Essence Essay of the Metamorphosis Metamorphosis essaysTrue Essence of The MetamorphosisUpon completion of Kafkas Metamorphosis I was immediately drawn away from the conclusion of the novel and back into the second section. It seemed to me that the true essence of the novella resided in the thoughts and observations revealed in this portion of the story. After watching the video adaptation I was once again intrigued by these events. I re-read the second section and found the first strong impressions of the grotesque were evident here.Kafka used the constant setting of the Samsa household to show the true repercussions of the metamorphosis. It is here that Gregor is truly dehumanized. No longer can he stand the taste of what used to be his favorite dish. He is reduced to a vermin who feeds on rotted, decaying food and who finds the presence of fresh food repulsing. The very means by which he sustained himself is not fit for a human, but rather for a dependent beast. Gregors eyesight begins to fail him. As his former self, he would spend hours looking out the window, studying, and reading; however, he now finds nothing more than a skewed perception of reality when doing these things. The whole worlds now looks and tastes different for Gregor. The worlds perception of him drives him away, and now his perception of the world drives him away even further. Alienation feeds upon itself. With the taste of moldy cheese in his mouth and the sight of nothing but a desolate grayexpanse in front of him, Gregors leisurely activity of snacking and staring out the window has been reduced to a sentence of feeding and suffering. As his senses dwindle and alter, he also finds that his comfort zones do the same thing. Unlike a normal person who lies upon a couch or bed and fears what may lie under it, Gregor resides underneath the couch and hides from those who would normally rest atop. His world has been turned upside-down. He no longer roots himself to the floor, but clings to the ceiling. Gregor has metamorphosed and is now truly the unguers ungerzeifer.Sadly, Gregors family treats him like the beast that he truly has become. Seeing the damages as irreparable, they strip him of his worldly possessions and leave him in a naked den fit for a beast. The struggle that he puts forth when his furniture is taken is symbolic of his struggle to return to human form. This is done in vain, though, as he has taken two steps backwards in an attempt to take one forward. The resulting squabble between Gregor and his family, is, in my opinion, the icing on the cake. The apple remains in his thorax as a constant reminder of his inability to become human once again. In this section, a man is alienated as completely as one man can be. Resulting, is an altered perception of the world. Kafkas feeling of separation most likely presented the same obstacle, providing him with the distorted view that produced this novella. This story comes from the mind of an obviously bothered human being. The alienation and dehumanization of Gregor seem to very clearly echoe the sentiments of Kafka.

my stance on war Essay Example
my stance on war Essay English 101 Evils of Wars Wars break out for various reasons. There are wars between countries or nations and within the nation. The latter is generally known as a civil war and can occur as a result of differences based on race, religion, socio-economic dissatisfaction among others. Whether wars are waged between countries (interstate) or inside the country between different sections of the communities, the effects are very damaging. There are a number of viewpoints for deciding when war is appropriate, some based on morals, and some based on costs and benefits. There are four theories that serve as justification for violence and wars. The main theories that explain policy decisions about war and peace are the theories of realism, pacifism, Just-war, and the requirement of discrimination theory. l, of course, dont support the idea that war is necessary because it destroys innocent minds, it is bad for the economy, and it is terrible for the environment. War does not always physically injure someone, but it can emotionally scar them for the rest of their lives. First, one thing that we can learn rom war is the recognition of universal similarities. Oftentimes, the soldiers are constantly told that the enemy are beasts and deserve no reason to live. But what makes the enemy different from them? Both sides believe in fighting for the homeland. Also, both sides encounter the destruction that a war brings to soldier mentally and physically. In the book All Quiet on the Western Front, author Erich Maria Remarque explains how even though in war the soldiers may have survived the attacks, they did not always survive the war itself(23). War destroys innocence. Soldiers in the war never had a chance to live their youth because they had to go to war. Just as they should be starting their teenage years, they were forced to drop everything at once and put their life on the line. If war does not kill you physically, then it will emotionally. Its a simple fact; war is destruction at its best. It does not only destroy lives and emotions, but the economy as well. War has influenced economic history profoundly across time and space. Above all, recurring war has drained wealth, disrupted markets, and depressed economic growth. Wars are expensive in money and other resources. In the book The Real Price of War: How You Pay for the War on Terror, author Joshua S. Goldstein informs that one estimate put World War Is total cost at $400 billion five times the value of everything in France and Belgium at the time(14). Goldsteins point is that in order to maintain a war and be fully prepared for it, a single country will eed to spend billions of dollars on weapons, food, shelter, training, etc. Yet many people might believe that it is worth it to squander billions of dollars Just to kill innocent people, and destroy countries, I think it is an aimless action to act upon. One way governments pay for war is to raise taxes, which is non-beneficial to society. Another way to pay for war is to borrow money, which increases government debt and can drive states into bankruptcy. In addition to draining money and resources capital such as farms, factories, and cities. Throughout history, war has invariably resulted in environmental destruction. Nuclear weapons pose a terrible threat to the environment and human health. The earths environment is battered by war, its preparation, practice and aftermath. It is destroyed as an act of war; it is used as a weapon of war; and its destruction is expensive and sometimes irreversible. In the article The Aftermath of Invasion: A Field Report from Nasiriyah, author Norman Sheehan stated that during the most recent warfare in Iraq, individuals were forced o cut down city trees to use as cooking fuel(1 1). This statement, which Sheehan uses in his article, adds weight to the argument that war destroys the environment. Cutting down trees has many negative effects on the environment, animals, and people. The real risk that conventional weapons pose to the environment is through indirect effects. For example, war affects the quality of our air; emissions from the use of tanks and other military machinery and the use of air bombs leave chemicals and debris in the air, which results in inhaling chemicals that are dangerous for our body. The start of a war only leads to harmful and negative outcomes. There is no doubt that war is an evil one, and it should never occur in history because it destroys innocence, it is bad for the economy, and it is terrible for the environment. There are, doubtless, people who consider war as something grand and heroic and regard it as something that brings out the best man. But this does not in any way alter the fact that war is a terrible dreadful calamity. This topic matters to the world because, us, people need to put ourselves first and think about how much we are going to be ffected when a war breaks down. In one way or another, everyone is affected by war. Therefore, starting a war should never be an option in solving disputes. Works Cited Goldstein, Joshua S. Free Essays on The Role Of The Criminal Justice System
In reading the chapter on The Role of the CJ System and the definitions of conflict versus consensus, I never knew that these types of models existed. In the material, it stated that the consensus model of criminal justice argues that the organizations of a criminal justice system either do, or should, work cooperatively to produce justice, as opposed to competitively. On the other hand the conflict model of criminal justice argues that the organizations of a criminal justice system either do, or should, work competitively to produce justices, as opposed to cooperatively. System conflict theory argues that worries over fame, promotion, wages, and success cause the criminal justice system to conflict with itself. This view disputes that there is no true system and points to the role of adversarial processes, in particular, which are seen to be basic to the ââ¬Å"systemâ⬠, and the fact that many criminal justice organizations normally share as little information as possible. One example of conflict within the system is that between the police and prison officials. The model claims that police desire to put criminals into prison whereas prison officials who are concerned about overcrowded facilities may desire to release criminals from prison (early release programs for nonviolent crimes). Another example of conflict within the system is that criminal justice officials may or do have their own agenda. Aspects of their agenda can be for any or all of the following reasons: pressures of success; promotion; pay increases; and general accountability. All these aspects in my opinion occurs at every job whether it be in the lowest administrative field in the workforce itself or higher up the later in the criminal justice fields. Most individuals believe that when theses aspects occur in the lower part of a ladder in the workforce, that it is normal but when it occurs in the criminal justice fields, i.e. police, detectives, judges, etc, sometime... A Critical Review in the Contemporary Themes in Youth Work Practice, Essay - 3
A Critical Review in the Contemporary Themes in Youth Work Practice, Thematic Area Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing - Essay Example e within the presentation, evaluate the facts presented, review values that have been drawn from the presentation, and then draw a conclusion of the entire review. This essay will record about a lecturerââ¬â¢s presentation that was prepared by Perry (2010). The presentation is part of the publications by the ChildTrauma Academy and the material is described as a presentation because of the slides used in presenting the information. The presentation offers an introduction to the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT), and in this regard, it discusses five core principles of the model. The principles discussed include brain organisation and function. The second principle is neurodevelopment and memory. The third principle is relational neurobiology and attachment. The fourth principle is stress, distress, and trauma, while the last principle is neglect. One of the key messages within the presentation is that the brain is an integral part of the human body and it accord humans the ability to experience humanity. This assertion is supported by the fact that the brain organ allows the human body to perform basic tasks like walking and talking, and even experiencing feelings like sadness or happiness (Brendtro, et al. 2009). On the issues of neurodevelopment and memory, Perry (2010) stated that the human brain develops overtime from conception and the rate of development after the age of three and four years becomes steady onwards whilst other body parts experience continued growth. Dobson and Perry (2010) supported this assertion by stating that human beings especially young people enhance their social and personal development through programmes under youth work, which is voluntary and complements formal education or training that also contributes to the development of young people. Therefore, youth work is part of the programmes that contribute to the steady development of the human brain. Thirdly, Perry (2010) stated that the timing, quantity, and nature of

Influence about Hungarian folk music in Liszt rhapsody no.2 Research Paper
Influence about Hungarian folk music in Liszt rhapsody no.2 - Research Paper Example The first Hungarian creations of Liszt were made during his stay in Vienna and Paris, yet these works, specifically the two movements of Zum Andenken, are anything but thoughtful compositions (Arnold 18). Besides the record of a Hungarian-influenced Schubert tune, Liszt was unable to give much attention to the music of his native land until his homecoming as an adult (Gervers 385). Lisztââ¬â¢s return to his homeland in 1839-1840 was vital to the development of his personal musical technique. In spite of his German roots, embraced French traditions, and mother tongue, Liszt had not stopped to proclaim himself a Hungarian (Loya 28). It was in the course of these visits, famous as the revered national champion of romantic nationalism at a time of Hungaryââ¬â¢s fight for cultural and national autonomy, that he started to return to his Hungarian origins with more fervent sentiments. The early portrayals of the national music of Hungary that Liszt was not able to forget eventually became more meaningful to him than sheer oddity. This form of distinctive national music at its peak at the moment was certainly not folk music, but an expression of global ancestry. Zoltan Kodaly and Bela Bartok would uncover the early Hungarian peasant music much later in the first half of the 20th century (Walker 54). The national music had emerged from an enlisting music, or verb unkos, that had thrived since the latter part of the 18th century (Gervers 386). This paper discusses the influence of Hungarian folk music on Lisztââ¬â¢s rhapsody no. 2 or, generally, on his Hungarian rhapsodies. Simply numerous, roughly the same tunes, are the prerequisite components of folk music. An example of this folk music is the Hungarian villageââ¬â¢s music. Those who are slightly familiar with contemporary Hungarian village melodies are aware that their songs have obvious resemblance in relation to structure and cadence. The two major classifications of Hungarian village
